Hi,
After the "Starting Windows" screen, the darkness comes. The screen just goes to black and never comes back until I do a hard restart. After the restart, it loads totally normally. The same happens when I put the computer to sleep. After the resuming windows logo, it goes black until I do a hard boot. The boot menu pops up stating that "I can boot in recovery mode or boot normally". I usually choose boot normally now, because it comes right up the second time.

Windows 7 64-bit
e8400
Gigabyte Mobo
4GB OCZ 1200 DDR2

Solution
You're using 64-Bit edition, This is most likely a driver issue. Check if the Action Center has a solution for you or at least the driver that's crashing the system. Remember, Windows 7 is strict about drivers unlike the X86
