Hi

Somehow Windows 7 sleep mode has corrupted my dual display config (it has resulted in my desktops being switched around on my monitors (primary is now monitor 2 etc., monitor #1 now displays only in green etc. etc.) and all my apps are on the wrong monitor. A reboot fixes it, but Firefox still has several windows on 'hidden desktops', which I can no longer retrieve (or move back) onto my primary desktop. I click on the taskbar icon and I can see the motion of them restoring and zooming off to a hidden desktop off the side of my screen.

Does anyone know how to retrieve these windows from the abyss? Is it possible to reset the remembered "window-is-displayed-on-desktop-#" information or is there something else?

It sounds like you're experiencing some issues with your display configuration and windows placement after waking up from sleep mode in Windows 7. To address the problem of windows being stuck on inaccessible virtual desktops, you can try the following steps: 1. Cascade Windows: Windows might sometimes be "off-screen" but still accessible. You can try right-clicking on the taskbar and selecting "Cascade windows" to bring them back into view. 2. Use Keyboard Shortcuts: You can try using keyboard shortcuts to move windows. Press "Alt + Tab" to switch between open windows. If the window is selected but not visible, press "Alt + Space" followed by "M" to activate the Move command. Then use the arrow keys to move the window back...

This tool can reset window positions and sizes in cases where windows on multiple monitors behave unexpectedly. 4. Use Desktop Management Software: If the above methods don't work, consider using desktop management software like DisplayFusion. It offers advanced window management features that can help you easily move windows between monitors and virtual desktops. 5. Update Graphics Drivers: Ensure that your graphics drivers are up to date. Outdated or corrupt drivers can sometimes cause display issues. 6. Reconfigure Dual Display Settings: Go to Control Panel > Display > Screen Resolution and make sure that the correct monitor is set as the primary display. You can also rearrange the monitors to match your physical setup. Try these steps to retrieve the windows that are currently off-screen and fix the display configuration issues you're facing after waking up from sleep mode in Windows 7. Let me know if you need further assistance!
