When I want to safely remove some hardware I click on the icon located in the system tray. However it takes about 60 seconds for the option for me to remove the hardware to come up. I have tried it with various pieces of hardware plugged in (and unplugged) and I get the same thing result. I'm using a Dell XPS M1330

Any ideas?

Outdated drivers can sometimes cause delays in recognizing and safely removing hardware. 3. Hardware Compatibility: Verify that the hardware you are trying to remove is fully compatible with your Dell XPS M1330. Incompatibility issues can lead to delays and erratic behavior. 4. Malware Scan: Perform a full system scan for any malware or viruses that could be affecting system performance. Malware can sometimes interfere with hardware recognition processes. 5. USB Port Issues: Test different USB ports on your Dell XPS M1330 to see if the issue persists. Faulty USB ports can cause delays in recognizing and safely removing hardware. 6. System Cleanup: Perform a disk cleanup and remove any unnecessary files or programs that could be clogging up your system and causing delays. 7. Check Event Viewer: Look into the Windows Event Viewer for any error messages or warnings that might indicate the source of the delay when removing hardware. 8. Update Windows: Make sure that your Windows operating system is fully updated with the latest patches and updates. Sometimes system updates can resolve underlying issues. By going through these steps, you can troubleshoot and identify the root cause of the delay in safely removing hardware from your system tray on your Dell XPS M1330.
