Windows 7 Share a movies folder with my xbox

Im not sure wheres best to post this so if this is the wrong place please let me know where to repost.

Ive recently set up my xbox to be able to play movies from my pc that are in the folder 'C:\Users\Tom Hart\Videos' but i have many on my external harddrive that i cant put in that folder as it will fill my internet drive up.

Is it possible to share the folder on my external HD with my xbox too?

I know it's possible with a streamer but I don't know about an Xbox. Why don't you try and see if it works?

If you add the folder to your library (not moving or copying any files) can the xBox see it?

What are you using to stream the media, Windows Media Center?
