Windows 7 Shorten the length of the taskbar

I am using a dock program (RocketDock) for most of my commonly accessed paths/files. I have docked it on the bottom of my screen as it feels natural and easy to use there, and I have moved the taskbar to the top of my screen with autohide on. However, sometimes I activate the task bar accidently...95% of the time when the cursor is near the update right or upper left corner of the screen.

I would love to shorten my taskbar (and the area that brings it out of autohide) by maybe 1 - 1.5 inches on each side. Has anyone ever seen a hack like this?

Cheers,
David

To my knowledge, it can't be done.

You could just have everything you need within RocketDock or ObjectDock or CircleDock and simply hide your taskbar...each of them has a Start Menu button built-in anyway, and each will show opened links in their own bar, so you don't really need the Windows taskbar anyway.

Good luck!
