Hi

I have tried to seek a solution without success so I am hoping that someone can help.

Since installing Windows 7 I cannot see my External USB Hard Drive as external device. It is a PRO 1TB External Hard Drive .

In Control Panel / Devices and Printers I can see it under Devices

USB to Serial - ATA Bridge but I can not read it

When i execute usbdrive v.1 47, i can see my external Hard drive as WDC WD3200BEVT-22ZCT0 ATA Device

In Disk manage, i see it as Part of my system but not allocated. if i format, i gona loose my data.

So frustrated. any suggestions are most welcome.

Cheers

Solution
The basic thing is to give it a name, not C, because that's the Windows presumption for the system disk, nor D because that's the basic for your major CD / DVD, but anything else... it may solve the problem. Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Administrative Tools\Computer Management\Storage\Disk Management, and name the disk.

Hope this helps. :)
