hi ho !
I'm new here and my english aint the best since its not my mother tongue. so pls forgive
my bad english, hope you'll understand my questions anyway

i am a student and like to take advantage of this cool offer of M for students regarding Windows 7
currently i run : Vista Ultimate, 32 Bit
my question is : can i order Windows 7, Home Professional, 64 bit, and do a clean install
on my PC with this new OS ? I am aware that this will kill my old Vista, but that is fine for me.
Or do i have to install a 32 bit version of Win 7 ?
How does Win 7 check if i have a win Vista installed atm ? or doesnt it check ?
i am confused by this "upgrade" terminus..
may be you can help me.! thx a lot
another question that just came up: after upgrading to Win 7, am i allowed to use my old Vista
on a different PC ?
thx mates

greets

Hi Jenkin, yes if you want to go down the 64bit path you can clean install and if you do this I dont see why your old OS cannot be used on another machine. If you upgrade from Vista ie when it is running i'm not so sure. I would suggest that you purchase another Hard Drive and dual boot your system ie have both Win7 and Vista and you can have a 64bit Win7 dual booting with a 32bit Vista.
PS your English is fine.
Good luck

Cheers
Jules
