Whenever I switch from the desktop to my browser and some other applications as well, I get this:

(Black boxes cover up some of the application) and I have to either repeat the switch over multiple times or I have to click around the page to get all the boxes to go away.

An image from 'Switching to a window reveals black cover on parts'. The images show a computer screen with blurred, highlighted text and a messaging notification.

It seems like you are experiencing a graphical glitch on your Windows system where black boxes appear when switching between the desktop and certain applications. This issue can be frustrating, but there are several steps you can take to try and resolve it. Here are some troubleshooting steps you can follow: 1. Update Graphics Drivers: - Outdated or corrupted graphics drivers can often cause display issues. Try updating your graphics drivers to the latest version from the manufacturer's website. 2. Change Display Settings: - Adjust your display settings, especially the resolution and refresh rate, to see if that resolves the issue. Right-click on the desktop, choose "Display settings," and make the necessary changes. 3...

Right-click on the desktop, choose "Display settings," and make the necessary changes. 3. Disable Hardware Acceleration: - Some applications use hardware acceleration that might conflict with your system. Try disabling hardware acceleration in the affected applications or in your web browser settings. 4. Check for Windows Updates: - Make sure your Windows operating system is up to date. Windows updates often include fixes for various bugs and issues, including graphical glitches. 5. Run System File Checker: - Use the System File Checker tool to scan and repair corrupted system files that may be causing the display problem. Open Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command sfc /scannow. 6. Check for Malware: - Sometimes malware can interfere with system processes and cause display issues. Perform a full scan of your system using Windows Defender or a reputable antivirus program. 7. Test in Safe Mode: - Boot your computer into Safe Mode to see if the issue persists. If the problem does not occur in Safe Mode, it might be caused by a third-party application or service. 8. Disable Background Processes: - Disable unnecessary background processes and applications that might be consuming resources and causing conflicts with your display. Try these steps one by one and check if the issue resolves after each step. If the problem persists, feel free to provide additional details so that we can further assist you.
