Hi guys , I recently installed Windows 7 x64 (dual boot with XP) and I have this problem that I can`t solve.
The problem is this: I have LG GH20NS15 SATA optical drive and whenever I insert CD/DVD in it it tries to read it but it can`t and everything is Ok until I try to access my optical drive then taskbar freezes and I can`t access start menu or any open programs through taskbar but I can use desktop and access programs that I have made shortcuts on my desktop .
When I try to open op. drive it gives me this error: Problem Event Name:AppHangB1
Application Name: explorer.exe.
The bottom line is I can`t use my optical drive.
Any suggestion will be appreciated.

Sometimes, Microsoft releases fixes for known issues that could be causing your problem. 3. Drive Troubleshooting: - Run the built-in Windows Troubleshooter for hardware devices to see if it can identify and resolve any issues with your optical drive. 4. Check Device Manager: - Open Device Manager and check if there are any exclamation marks or warnings next to your optical drive. This could indicate a driver issue that needs to be addressed. 5. Safe Mode: - Try accessing the optical drive in Safe Mode. If it works fine in Safe Mode, this could indicate that a third-party application or driver is causing the problem. 6. Third-Party Software: - If you have any third-party CD/DVD burning software installed, try updating or uninstalling it to see if it's causing conflicts with the drive. 7. System File Checker (SFC): - Run the System File Checker tool to scan and repair any corrupted system files that may be affecting the operation of your optical drive.
