I have been dealing with an issue where I am only able to get on a couple of websites, while every other website will not load. I have checked my auto-config settings and ive reset Internet Explorer. I used Microsoft's tool that tells you what the problem is and it came up with "the remote device or resource won't accept the connection". Ive gone through many different steps to find an answer to the problem and still unable to access any other website, im using a friends computer to hopefully get an answer to this issue. The operating system is Win 7 on a Toshiba Laptop. Thanks for the help.

It seems like you're facing connectivity issues on your Windows 7 Toshiba laptop, where you can only access a few websites while others won't load. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow to address this problem:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Check Network Connectivity:

    []Check Hosts File:

    ]Flush DNS Cache:
    • Flushing the DNS cache can sometimes resolve network issues. Open a command prompt and run the command: ipconfig /flushdns.
    []Check Proxy Settings:
    • Since you mentioned checking auto-config settings, ensure that there are no proxy settings configured that might be blocking certain websites.
    [
    ]Disable Firewall and Antivirus:
    • Temporarily disable your Windows firewall and antivirus software to check if they are blocking your access to certain websites.
    []Update Network Drivers:
    • Ensure that your network adapter drivers are up to date. You can update them through Device Manager.
    [
    ]Run Network Troubleshooter:
    • Windows has a built-in network troubleshooter that can help diagnose and fix common networking problems. You can access it through Control Panel > Troubleshooting > View all > Internet Connections.
    []Try Using Different Browsers:
    • If the issue persists, try accessing the websites using different web browsers to see if it's browser-specific.
    [
    ]Reset TCP/IP Stack:
    • Open a command prompt with administrative privileges and run the following commands:
      Code:
netsh int ip reset netsh winsock reset
  2. Run SFC Scan:
    • Use the System File Checker tool to scan for and repair corrupted system files. Open a command prompt as an administrator and run: sfc /scannow.

      Additional Suggestions:

      • Ensure that your Windows 7 is fully updated with the latest patches.
      • Consider scanning your system for malware using reputable antivirus software.
By following these steps, you should be able to diagnose and potentially resolve the issue of being unable to access most websites on your Windows 7 Toshiba laptop.
