Hi everyone!

I keep having problems with this forum.

If I insert a link and then try and type after it on the next line, it keeps trying to mark every thing I type as a link, blue type underlined.

Some times it just the first letter, and I have to type... MMike and then delete the first M.

Other times it just keeps going, and I can't type anything that isn't underlined and it won't let me change it. I.e. I can't click on the underline button and correct it.

I have to type line above the link and then cut and paste it to where I want it below the link.

Last when I post my messages it often sucks the line up and my name ends up stuck on the end of the last line with no space in between. Then I have to edit it and move it back down.

Am I the only one having these problems?

Link Removedhis time it only did the first letter!

Mike

Solution
Our latest updates have focused on the editor. The most recent update tonight is the largest we have implemented in weeks. I would suggest that you CTRL-F5 or dump all cookies and browsing history on the site and let me know if you still see the problem, Mike. Thank you.
I am testing this to check if I have the problem

Link Removed - Invalid URL

Seems not. - Sorry Mike.

P.S. I "x'd" the address!

PPs . I am in full compatibility mode . Skin 2.4.3

Hi, Mike. Can you advise if you have this problem in multiple browsers or only in IE? I seem to recall this happening to me once, but I think it was only in IE and I did a reset of everything in the browser and it went away and I haven't been able to reproduce it again.

Hi

I use Google Chrome, I'll see if it happens in IE, and get back.

Mike

Back again.

Now I'm in Internet Explorer.

So here goes...

Link Removedow I'm typing, this is the line typed first, then I moved it down and inserted the line above.

This isn't new, it was doing this before my recent complete new install.

Links are just added to attempt to diagnose and duplicate the issue.Link Removed Thanks for the followup Mike.
Unfortunately I can not seem to The White House duplicate the issue.
I will be talking with Mike (site owner and senior administrator) a bit later and will ask him if any recent coding updates to the site may have impacted the editor specifically.
In the mean time if you could take some steps to self diagnose (maybe Ccleaner??) and maybe we can get a comment or two from some other members who may be experiencing the same issue, which might help us zero in on the problem. I am seldom if ever comfortable asking members to fiddle with their PC settings to help us diagnose such problems, but I would appreciate it if you would reset IE to factory settings if possible and delete temp, cache and cookies if that is an option for you just to help us test if we can confirm that it is a global issue and not local to your environment it would really help. That is another reason why I am hoping for others who have this issue to add some comments.

Hi

I think this is the first time I have used Internet Explorer since I reinstalled Windows a couple of weeks ago.

Everything is fresh and clean, I run CCleaner several times a day.

This was happening before I did the refresh of my computer a couple of weeks ago.

Pretty weird, I thought that other people must be seeing this too.

I don't have a clue as to what would be doing this.

I'm NOT seeing this on any other forum, only here.

I don't have clue what's going on.

Mike

Thanks again MIke for the update and info. I couldn't help but notice that in every instance that you've shown in this thread involved the same secure (https://) link involving amazon.
Can you confirm the same behavior with any and all links? Just trying to sort it out in my head.

Hi

I just picked Amazon at random, it does it with pretty much anything I pick.

It doesn't always do it, but today it either does the first letter, which is't as annoying, or all of the text following, which is really annoying.

Only the first letter this time.

Thanks again.
Would you click Start Orb-> All Programs-> Accessories -> System Tool-> Internet Explorer (No Addons) and see if the same thing happens.
Appreciated
Randy

Hi Randy

I'm in Internet Explorer No Add Ons.

Link Removed It doesn't happen even if I type on the same line.

I'm typing here, I'm typing here.

Hi

I'll try again, I posted this from IE no addons and it wasn't here when I came back.

I'm in IE No Addons...

No it doesn't happen here. So it must have something to do with Addons.

Ok: I didn't know there was a page 2. It's late!!!

I didn't know there was a feedback forum either.

Just testing....

his is a test, ah there it goes again.

If I can keep it so that it only does the first letter it wouldn't be bad.

Now that you have traced it to an issue with addons / plugins / extensions, perhaps so more vigorous testing by disabling these various products might help identify the specific culprit. Knowing the specific offender might help us with some additional testing to perhaps duplicate the issue. I for one would be willing to install the specific product into whichever browser and test myself. I could then forward the information to Mike who could coordinate with the vBulletin development team to see if that is something they can or would be willing to address.
Thanks
Randy
EIIT: Also it would be nice to know specifically in reference to Chrome, which version you are using? Are you using that latest stable build or chasing the seemingly endless beta versions?

I'm using the latest stable build, no beta.
And this has been happening for a while, probably with earlier versions then I have now.

I'll look into how I disable Addons in Chrome and get back to you when I get a chance.

Mike

For Chrome
Click the little wrench looking icon and choose options
Then from the left column select the Under the Hood link
Then the Content settings button
Then the Disable individual plug-in link under the Plug-ins section.
Most likely a plug-in / addon that both browser may have in common.
Just a guess

I thought I had it this time...

I left a few Addons Running that I thought I'd need, I'll turn them off and try again later.

It only did it on the one line.
