I have a laptop where the touchpad is just under my thumbs as I type. The frustrating thing is that now and then I will brush the touchpad, and it moves the cursor in my text. So I'll type half a paragraph into the wrong location in my document about, oh 3 times per hour. I have no idea if there is a setting for this, but is there some way to fix this problem? Like maybe disabling the touchpad until I hold control or something?

Solution
Most Notebooks/Laptops have either a switch somewhere on them to turn the touchpad off or an Fn plus another Fx key to do it, have seen a couple where just plugging in an External USB Mouse did it.
go to Settings >Devices and do as in the image below:

Solution
First I've heard of a Notebook/Laptop not having an Fn key on the lower left of the keyboard, all I've seen did not have it anywhere else.
