Hi! I've been checking my files with my system file checker this evening. The command prompt said , it found some corrupt files and could not fix them all. Details are located in the CBS Log Example: winfir/Logs/CBS.log C:/Windows/Logs/CBS/ CBS.log) I managed to find the CBS Log dated 8--1-08. I was denied access, no Vista Recovery Disk asked for. Should I give it one? I have my HP Recovery disk available.....I get confused occationally-Windows or HP?

Solution
Hi Celestra

You could use System File Checker to check and repair the damage files.
On Vista, open Windows Explorer then look for C:\Windows\System32\cmd.exe
Right-click cmd.exe, then click "Run as administrator"
In the Command Prompt windows, type SFC /scannow
Hit Enter key of the keyboard.
Allow it to scan the system to hopefully fix any damage items.

Reboot when done.
