for some time now, I have been having trouble with writing with my "windows10" laptop. When going back to make corrections in my text, or when adding quotation marks, it suddenly starts selecting seemingly random portions of text every time I click anywhere in the text. Restarting my computer will fix the problem, but I cannot save my text first, because it won't let me select all the text. It also reverses the action of the Caps Lock button. Everything is fine as long as I don't make any corrections, or use quotation marks. This problem seems to be connected to an upgrade.

Check options related to autocorrect, spell check, and other typing-related features. 2. Check for Stuck Keys: - Physically check your keyboard for any stuck keys, debris, or obstructions. Press all keys to ensure they are functioning correctly. 3. Update Keyboard Drivers: - Go to Device Manager and check for any issues with the keyboard drivers. Update the keyboard drivers if there are newer versions available. 4. Enable/Disable Filter Keys: - Filter Keys is a feature that ignores brief or repeated keystrokes. Toggle this feature on and off to see if it affects the issue. You can find this under Settings > Ease of Access > Keyboard. 5. Run Keyboard Troubleshooter: - Windows has a built-in Keyboard troubleshooter that can help identify and fix common issues with keyboards. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Keyboard and run the troubleshooter. 6. Check for Updates: - Make sure your Windows 10 is up to date with the latest updates. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and check for updates. 7. Check for Malware: - Run a full system scan using Windows Defender or any third-party antivirus software to ensure that your system is free from malware that could be affecting keyboard behavior. 8. Check Accessibility Settings: - Sometimes accessibility features like Sticky Keys or Toggle Keys can inadvertently affect keyboard behavior. Go to Settings > Ease of Access and check these settings. 9. Perform System Restore: - If the issue started after a recent upgrade, consider using System Restore to revert your system to a point before the upgrade. This can help eliminate any software-related issues. 10. Test with External Keyboard: - If possible, connect an external USB keyboard to your laptop and check if the issue persists. This can help determine if the problem is with the physical laptop keyboard or a software issue. By following these steps, you should be able to troubleshoot and resolve the unexpected keyboard behavior you are experiencing on your Windows 10 laptop.
