Change of plan - while playing with various Backup options, I learnt how to select a whole lot of folders and to Copy/Paste them onto my external hard drive. As all my save-worthy Folders are only about 60GB, it's easy to backup the whole lot without bothering about Incremental or Differential Backups, so I am doing that and have uninstalled Backup Maker, worthy though it is.
For a full System Mirror Image Backup, and a Repair CD, I have simply followed the instructions in Windows Backup and Restore, and that is quite simple and reassuring.
So software minimalism has prevailed, in the end. A USB3 port would speed things up, I'll see whether I can add one.
Regards,
Mike

Thanks, I am in UK, but have found the equivalent module and just have to decide whether to make this modification or not.

Mike
