Split and Merge Technique isn't a recovery technique of corrupt PST files but it safes user from of its corruption which take place due the reason of large size and when having large number of PST files in Outlook account.

1. Split Technique is useful when you've large size Outlook PST file and want to break it in some small PST files.
2. Merge Technique allows user to merge more then one PST files in one single file.

Though Microsoft doesn't provide anything to merge PST files into a single file and to split PST file into multiple parts, but still there are few built-in features and functions in Outlook client which enable you to do that. As Outlook is the only thing you needed for this, it would be free. There's no need to purchase any paid solution. I am trying to decode the title of split outlook pst and merge outlook pst.
1. Split pst- when we avoid corrupted pst file and a large amount of pst then we use Softaken split outlook pst file.
2. merge pst- when we have least pst files or duplicate pst file then we can use Softaken merge outlook pst tool can merge small pst to a file and when we merging then deletes duplicate pst.

Microsoft doesn’t provide any tool to merge PST files. Even there’s no built-in feature or function in the Outlook client that can help you merge PST files. However, there’s a built-in Import feature which you can use here. Though it doesn’t merge PST files, you can import the mailbox content from two or multiple PST files into a single file.

Merge PST Files Outlook 2010

You just to need to follow these simple steps:
Step 1: First, launch Microsoft Outlook on your system.
Step 2: Create a new Outlook data file.
Click New Items, point to More Items and click Outlook Data File…
Step 3: On the Create or Open Outlook Data File window, give a name to this new file.
Click OK to confirm your action.
You can see the new Outlook data file in the navigation pane.
Step 4: On the taskbar, click File tab > Open > Import.
Step 5: On the Import and Export Wizard, select Import from another program or file in the option.
Click Next to continue the process.
Step 6: On the Import a File window, select Outlook Data File (.pst).
Now click Next.
Step 7: On the Import Outlook Data File window, click Browse to locate the file and select it.
You can see the selected file in the edit box. You may check the box Do not import duplicatesbox, and then click Next.
Step 8: Now select the folder to import from. You may check the box Include subfolders. Keep it unchecked if you don’t want to include subfolders in the output PST file.
Also, check either Import items into the current folder or Import items into the same folder in. Finally, click Finish.
Step 9: Outlook starts importing the selected mailbox folder to new PST file.

Within a few seconds, the process will be completed successfully. Now you can check the new PST file in which you’ll see all the mailbox folders imported earlier from another PST file.

Split PST File into Multiple Parts

Microsoft Outlook stores all your email messages and other mailbox items in an Outlook data file called PST or Personal Storage Table. There are two types of PST files used by Microsoft Outlook: ANSI and Unicode. ANSI PST is used in Microsoft Outlook 2002 and earlier versions. ANSI is the default file format of these Outlook versions and has a size limit of 2 GB. As a result, it can’t store more than 2 GB of mailbox data. While Unicode PST file is used in Microsoft Outlook 2003 and later versions. It’s the default file format of these Outlook versions, and it can store up to 20 GB to 50 GB of mailbox content.

Move PST file items by using Archive feature of Outlook

Note: If you’re looking for “how to archive Outlook folder”, you should use this trick.
Step 1: First, launch Microsoft Outlook program.
Select your PST file from which you want to move items to a new PST file.
Step 2: Now click File tab > Info.
Click Cleanup Tools.
Step 3: A list will be scrolled down.
Select Archive… in the options.
Step 4: The Archive dialog box will appear.
The “Archive this folder and all subfolders” box is checked by default. If it’s not, do check it. Also, select any folder from the list that you want to move. For example Inbox.
Step 6: An option Archive items older than is shown there.
Select a date from the calendar.
Step 7: Now click Browse.
Select a location and give any name to this new PST file. It’s archive.pst by default.
Step 8: You can see the selected location with the defined file name in the edit box.
Finally, click OK to start the actual process.
This will create a new PST file consequently. You can now check this file in Microsoft Outlook.
