Windows 7 Useable ram question?

What does it mean when it says RAM: 4.00gb (2.87gb usable) ?

The difference is probably down to two parts in your case. Firstly if you are running a 32 bit version of Windows it can only "see" about 3.5GB of RAM due to the number of bits required to address more. The other bit which you appear to be "missing" could be down to a number of reasons but most likely down to your video system using some "shared" RAM. If you wanted us to check this out you would need to give more details of your hardware and operating system.
