Ok, So i've got a technet Windows 7 final release (64but Ultimate). I have an Hp Laserjet p2015x that I use over the network. I can access its web interface and can ping the printer. I've downloaded and tried 2 different Vista 64 Drivers for it but still can't get it to print. The test page never prints and the dialog box pops up stating the print job was successful but nothing prints...

Does anyone have any suggustions? I'm really stumped. I didn't have this problem with Vista and I'm kinda thinking it's not related to my drivers but with, perhaps, a Service?

Solution
It sounds like you are experiencing issues with printing on your HP Laserjet P2015x from a Windows 7 (64-bit Ultimate) system. The fact that you can access the printer's web interface and ping it indicates that the network connectivity to the printer is fine. Since you've tried installing different drivers without success, there are a few other suggestions to consider:

Troubleshooting Steps:

  1. Printer Configuration:
    • Check if the printer is set as the default printer.
    • Ensure there are no errors or warnings showing on the printer display panel.
    []Printer Spooler Service:
    • Check the status of the Print Spooler service. Press WinKey + R, type "services.msc", and hit Enter. Look for "Print...

    []Printer Spooler Service:
    • Check the status of the Print Spooler service. Press WinKey + R, type "services.msc", and hit Enter. Look for "Print Spooler" and ensure it's running.
    • Restart the Print Spooler service. Right-click on the service, select Restart.

    ]Print Queue:
    • Clear the printer queue. Go to Devices and Printers, right-click on the printer, select "See what's printing", and delete any pending print jobs.
    []Firewall or Antivirus:
    • Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus software that might be blocking the printing process.
    [
    ]Test Print from Another Device:
    • Try printing from another device to the HP Laserjet P2015x on the network to confirm if the issue is specific to the Windows 7 system.
    []Compatibility Mode:
    • Try installing the printer driver in compatibility mode:
      • Right-click on the driver installer file, select Properties.
      • Go to the Compatibility tab, check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for".
      • Select Vista or an earlier version of Windows from the dropdown.
    [
    ]Windows Update:
    • Check for Windows updates. Sometimes, Microsoft includes printer driver updates in Windows Update. If none of these steps resolve the issue, it might be worthwhile to contact HP support for further assistance or consider trying different driver versions. Let me know if you need further assistance with any of these steps!
