Hello, I cannot seem to fix my laptop. It is a ACER aspire 574o Below is the bsod details that I have gotten(there are more if they are needed to help, the attatchments are included for the .dmp files) and im not sure how to know whats wrong. I have installed new OS windows 7 ultimate, and still doesnt fix. Unistalled video driver and when i install it back it wont run and goes to bsod unless i run safe mode. So idk how to make my video card on my laptop work, because everytime i install the catalyist installer, and install the updated driver it bsod on me. Any clues as to what is going on?

Thanks to any and all help,
    Drew

Hi miskiv and Welcome to The Forum.

All your dmp files are the same:

    STOP 0x00000116: VIDEO_TDR_ERROR
    Usual causes:
Video driver, overheating, bad video card, ?BIOS, ?Power to card.

Download the latest graphics drivers for your machine AMD Graphics Drivers.

    • Download and install Driver Sweeper.
    • Uninstall your current Graphics setup through Programs and Features
    • Boot to and run (preferably) Driver Sweeper in Safe Mode to clean up the remnants of your current Graphics set up.
    • Reboot to Normal Mode.
    • Install your new Graphics set up.

    Outdated Drivers. Update:

agrsm64.sys Mon Nov 10 15:01:35 2008 Agere Systems Soft Modem. Part of LSI Logic.

Let us know how it goes. If (when!!) you get further problems with blue screens, attach your new dump files and details and we'll move on from there.

    HTH.

Just as elmer mentioned of other possible causes. Check what power setting is set on the pc, "high performance" setting can cause unwanted heat
control panel > system and security > power options > SET TO BALANCED

Also check for a BIOS update too. ( next step to do )

For driver and BIOS updates use your computer manufacturer's website.
    Download
Pick your computer using the interface and then select the BIOS tab. Looks like there is a recent one from 2011/02/12. Although a BIOS update is nothing to perform lightly and you should be sure that you know what you are doing and if not perhaps seek professional help in doing something like that. As is plainly stated on the site in red letters
"Updating an incorrect BIOS may cause harm to your system. We recomend that you only do this after being instructed by one of our Customer Care representatives. By using these updates you agree to accept the possibility of product failure."
