video editing software?

    Does anyone know any good video editing software for windows 8.1, that is either free or cheap? I could really use some help on this.

    I find AVS for you a comprehensive package of av software at a very low price - 1 year licence for $39 or unlimited for $59. You can just buy the components individually but at this price . . .!:

    I use VirtualDub which is free and open-source:
    http://www.virtualdub.org/

    It's a linear video editor but more than enough for my needs.

    Movavi Video Editor and VideoPad Video Editor. They support various video formats, such as MP4, AVI, WMV, MPV, etc. You can also add effects, crop, add audio to the video. Google them, you will find them really good.

    I am currently using AVS Video Editor, another option is MoviePlus, hope it helps
