I find AVS for you a comprehensive package of av software at a very low price - 1 year licence for $39 or unlimited for $59. You can just buy the components individually but at this price . . .!:

Windows Essentials (formally Microsoft Essentials 2012) is pretty good for a free basic editor.....I use it and it works.
