In my emails, when I would get more than one picture. I could view pictures in a slide show, which when clicked opened windows photo gallery and I could view slide slow. Now for some reason my slide show is opens in windows live photo gallery. How do I get it to open in windows photo gallery and not windows live photo gallery? I have set the file association to windows photo gallery, didn't work. I set my default program to use windows photo gallery, that didn't work either. All my pictures used to open in windows photo gallery before, It just started a few weeks ago and is really starting to bug the crap out of me. Need some help with this one.

To resolve the issue with your pictures opening in Windows Live Photo Gallery instead of Windows Photo Gallery, you can try the following steps:

Resetting Default Programs:

  1. Reset File Associations:
    • Go to the Control Panel.
    • Click on "Default Programs," then choose "Set your default programs."
    • Select "Windows Photo Gallery" from the list and choose "Set this program as default."
    []Reset File Type Associations:
    • In the Control Panel, click on "Default Programs."
    • Click on "Associate a file type or protocol with a program."
    • Look for the file type associated with images (like .jpg or .png) and ensure it is set to open with Windows Photo Gallery.

      • Check for Updates: Ensure that your system and Windows Photo Gallery are up to date.
      • Compatibility Mode: Try running Windows Photo Gallery in compatibility mode if you suspect compatibility issues with your current system.
By following these steps, you should be able to set Windows Photo Gallery as the default program for viewing your pictures.
