Windows 7 Virtual PC - Slow processor speed

I recently installed the newest edition of VirtualPC on my Win7 ultimate machine. Having used VPC 2007 in the past, I was expecting a similar experience. Only to be disappointed when I installed a VM of Win7 Pro, and it was extremely slow. The processor speed reported was 5 Mhz. I find this unusual given my host machine's specs.

I assured that Virtualization was enabled in the bios, and the integration tools were installed. In the past i have run XP and Win7 in VMs with great success on far less superior machines. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Kurt

I gave up on Windows VMs quite a while ago because of mediocre performance. VMware Player is free and now allows you to create the VM with it. There is also VirtualBox but it was a pain to network. You might have better luck with one of them.
