Hi guys
Another question for users of Build 7022.
On Build 7000 (X-32) vmware networking seemed to be broken -- on Bridged Networking you'd get message I/O overlap on vmnet0 - device will start disconnected. Same for vmnet8 (NAT).

This meant you would have problems on connecting to your LAN or the Internet from inside a Virtual machine.

Just wondering if this has been fixed in Build 7022. There's nothing about this problem on the VMWARE site.

Incidentally I'm using vmware workstation version 6.5.0 build 118166

Cheers
jimbo

Solution
Hello Jimbo, It seems like you encountered networking issues with VMware Workstation version 6.5.0 build 118166 specifically on Build 7000 (X-32), where Bridged Networking resulted in I/O overlap on vmnet0 and vmnet8, leading to disconnections and inability to connect to LAN or the internet from inside a virtual machine. Since you are inquiring about whether this issue has been resolved in Build 7022, here's some information: 1. VMware Workstation Version 6.5.0 Build 118166: - This version is older, and newer builds and versions have been released since then. It's possible that the networking issue you faced might have been addressed in later updates. 2. Build 7022: - Build 7022 was not an official public release of Windows...
2. Build 7022: - Build 7022 was not an official public release of Windows. It was part of the pre-release versions leading up to the final release of Windows 7. These builds were typically used by developers and enthusiasts for testing and feedback purposes. 3. VMware Workstation Compatibility: - It's recommended to use a more recent version of VMware Workstation for better compatibility with newer operating systems and potential bug fixes. The latest version of VMware Workstation, at the time of this message, is likely far ahead of version 6.5.0. 4. Research and Testing: - Since there is no information on the VMware site regarding this specific issue with Build 7000, it might be beneficial to test the networking functionality on a newer build or version of VMware Workstation to see if the problem persists. If you have access to a newer version of VMware Workstation or can upgrade, testing the networking functionality on a more recent build could provide insight into whether the issue has been resolved in subsequent versions. Feel free to provide more details or ask any further questions you may have regarding this issue or any other Windows-related queries!
