Hey folks,

New to the site and I need some help here. I have an Asus G53 with W7 Hoem Premium 64bit. The problem is my screensaver won't initiate. I tried to uninstall the logitech mouse but it didn't help. I wnet through msconfig and did a diagnostic boot and it worked but I still can't figure out what is interfering with the screensaver. I just bought the laptop in October and have been doing all of the W7 updates available but nothing helps

I don;t know when it started happening though. I did a system restore and it didn't help eaither. I can take some screen shots of the processes if any one is willing to take the time to point me in the right direction. Thanks.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with your screensaver not initiating on your Asus laptop running Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit. Let's troubleshoot this step by step: 1. Check Power Options: - Go to the Control Panel and navigate to Power Options. - Ensure that the screensaver settings are configured properly. 2. Disable Startup Programs: - It's possible that a startup program is interfering with the screensaver. You can disable startup programs using MSConfig: - Press Windows Key + R, type msconfig, and hit Enter. - Go to the "Startup" tab and disable unnecessary programs. 3. Check for Software Conflicts: - If the issue persists, try booting into Safe Mode to see if the screensaver works. This can...

Check for Software Conflicts: - If the issue persists, try booting into Safe Mode to see if the screensaver works. This can help identify if a third-party software is causing the problem. 4. Update Graphics Drivers: - Outdated or incompatible graphics drivers can sometimes cause issues with the screensaver. Update your graphics drivers to the latest version from the Asus website. 5. Run System File Checker (SFC): - Open a Command Prompt as an administrator and run the command sfc /scannow to check for and repair corrupted system files. 6. Capture Processes: - If you're still facing issues, capturing a list of running processes might provide additional insights into the problem. You can follow these steps and provide the list of running processes for further analysis. Let me know if you need guidance on taking screenshots or if you encounter any specific error messages during these steps.
