I am having an issue with my wifi dropping out in Windows. After some research, I thought maybe it was virus/software issue, but I realized whenever I am closer to the AP and have a better signal it never drops. Now I know this sounds like I'm an idiot right now, but the thing that gets me is:
1. This computer is set up with xubuntu (linux) dual boot, and in that OS, it never drops out
2. When it does drop out in Windows, I lose everything in the wifi popup. Where my room is, there are 8-10 signals and when it drops out, none of them show until I either restart computer or reset the wireless adapter.

I am using Win 7 Starter.

Solution
Check to make sure you have the lastest driver.
Has there been a recent update to the driver? Might be the problem. If so go back to an earlier version and see if it helps.
Delete the driver and let it reinstall.
