Check Folder Options:​

1. Open File Explorer: Navigate to the folder where you are missing the new file highlights.
2. Click on "View" Tab: At the top of the window, click on the "View" tab.
3. Select "Options" and then "Change folder and search options": This will open the Folder Options window.
4. Go to the "View" Tab: In the Folder Options window, go to the "View" tab.
5. Ensure "Show highlighted newly installed programs" is checked: Look for an option that says "Show highlighted newly installed programs" or "Expand to open folder". Make sure this option is checked.

   Restart Windows Explorer:​

6. Open Task Manager: Right-click on the taskbar and select "Task Manager".
7. Locate "Windows Explorer": Under the Processes tab, find "Windows Explorer".
8. Restart Windows Explorer: Right-click on "Windows Explorer" and select "Restart".

   Check System Settings:​

9. Open Settings: Press Windows key + I to open Settings.
10. Go to Personalization: Navigate to Personalization > Themes > Desktop icon settings.
11. Check "Highlight newly installed programs" in the Desktop Icon Settings.

    Reset Folder View Settings:​

12. Open a Folder: Go to the folder where the issue is occurring.
13. Click on "View" Tab: Follow the steps mentioned above to open the Folder Options window.
14. Navigate to "View" Tab: Go to the View tab and click on "Reset Folders".

    Run System File Checker (SFC) Scan:​

15. Open Command Prompt as an Administrator: Right-click on the Start menu and choose "Command Prompt (Admin)".
