Whenever i tried to transfer big files from the os to my ext hard disc, it will just hang half way and will prompt me that the driver is not detectable. Then afterward the window will just hang. I get that freq and i am wishing someone will help to solve this issue as i am quite unhappy with the new window though stated that is better than vista. It just another problem after problem. I guess many users are getting tired of complaining issue and just stick back to window xp or go to osx. i guess if there is still any of the issue that keep occuring, i will just switch to mac instead. no point wasting my time to solve the problem. :(:(:(

It seems like you're experiencing issues with transferring large files from your operating system to your external hard drive, where the process hangs halfway and prompts you that the driver is not detectable. This can indeed be frustrating, but there are several potential solutions you can try to resolve this issue before considering switching to a different operating system like macOS. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem: 1. Check USB Ports: Try using different USB ports on your computer to connect the external hard drive. Sometimes, a faulty USB port could be the issue. 2. Check External Hard Drive: Ensure that the external hard drive is functioning correctly. Test it on...

Sometimes, a faulty USB port could be the issue. 2. Check External Hard Drive: Ensure that the external hard drive is functioning correctly. Test it on another computer to see if the issue persists. 3. Update Drivers: Make sure that both your operating system and the external hard drive drivers are up to date. Outdated drivers can cause compatibility issues. 4. File System Compatibility: Check if the file system of the external hard drive is compatible with your operating system. Windows usually works well with NTFS or exFAT file systems. 5. Power Management Settings: Adjust the power management settings for your USB ports to prevent them from turning off during file transfers. This can be done in the Device Manager. 6. Use a Different File Transfer Method: Instead of using the drag-and-drop method, try using a file transfer utility like TeraCopy or Robocopy to see if the issue persists. 7. Check for Disk Errors: Run a disk check on your external hard drive to ensure there are no bad sectors or other disk errors affecting the transfer. 8. System Scan for Malware: Perform a full system scan for malware or viruses that could be interfering with the file transfer process. 9. Hardware Troubleshooting: If none of the above steps work, consider checking the USB cable, trying a different external hard drive, or seeking assistance from a professional to diagnose any hardware issues. By following these steps, you may be able to identify and resolve the issue causing your file transfer problem. If you need further assistance or have any other questions, feel free to ask!
