Microsoft has released Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.6029 (KB5061087) to the Release Preview Channel, introducing several enhancements and fixes aimed at improving system performance and user experience.
Key Updates and Fixes:
  • Mobile Operator Profiles: The Country and Operator Settings Asset (COSA) profiles have been updated to enhance mobile network compatibility.
  • App Platforms and Frameworks:
  • Resolved an issue affecting Component Object Model (COM) functionality, where remote COM activations were failing with error 0x8001011.
  • Upgraded the included curl tool to version 8.13.0, providing improved performance and security.
  • App Defaults: In the European Economic Area (EEA), changes have been made to the default browser settings:
  • Additional file and link types will be set for the new default browser if it registers them.
  • The new default browser will be pinned to the Taskbar and Start menu unless the user opts out.
  • A separate one-click button is now available for browsers to change the default application for .pdf files, provided the browser registers for this file type.
  • Authentication Platform: Fixed an issue affecting device registration in Entra ID Windows Account Manager (WAM).
  • Input and Composition: Addressed an issue preventing the complete removal of unused language packs and Features on Demand (FOD).
