Hi All Expert,

Good Day.

I have a user which when she search for file/doc in server network NAS is very slow, but other users pc was fast. But when she search for file/doc on her whole C drive was slow but still fine, I would like to check if indexing help to solve the slowness in searching for a file on server drive, but the indexing only apply on local hard disk, as this process is very long and I also didn't want to reformat. Appreciate if any expert can advise me on.

*Windows 10 64 Bits

Thanks!

Have you tried rebuilding your search index?

  • Open 'Control Panel'
  • Select 'Indexing Options'
  • Click on the Advanced button
  • Click the Rebuild button
  • Click Ok to confirm
Also if you want to include the entire C drive in the index, at the first screen on 'Indexing Options', click Modify and add the C:\ then do the rebuild.

What worked for me was this, go to
FILE > CHANGE FOLDER AND SEARCH OPTIONS>SEARCH TAB - uncheck everything except the Include system directories
