Hey guys,

I'm new to the forums. Like many, I've had problems in the past about Window 7's notorious wireless lag-spike issue. However, after having done some tweaking today, I think I actually managed to fix the problem without downloading any network drivers/graphic drivers. I disabled SuperFetch in Services. Now, I have no spikes. I'm writing this because I'm only have an average knowledge of computer tech. and I was wondering if an advanced technician can reassure that this method can fix lag at no expense to my PC. I completely understand that my performance will drop slightly, but other than that, I've yet to encounter lag-spikes since disabling SuperFetch. I hope this help others.

Hello Jin Toshiro,

Disabling SuperFetch can indeed help with performance issues, especially in cases where users are experiencing lag spikes. SuperFetch is a Windows service that helps to load programs more efficiently by preloading them into RAM. However, in some cases, it can cause performance issues, especially on systems with limited resources or specific hardware configurations.
By disabling SuperFetch, you may notice a slight drop in overall system performance, particularly in scenarios where the feature was providing benefits. However, if you have not encountered any lag spikes since disabling SuperFetch and your system is running smoothly, then it seems like a successful solution for your particular case.
It's always a good idea to monitor your system's performance over time to ensure that the changes you made continue to provide the desired results. If you encounter any new issues or notice a significant decrease in performance after disabling SuperFetch, you can always re-enable it to see if it improves the situation.
If you have any more questions or need further assistance with your Windows 7 system or any other tech-related inquiries, feel free to ask. Your experience and solution may indeed help others facing similar issues. Great job on troubleshooting and resolving the problem!
