Windows 7 Windows 7 not dectecting ADSL Modem.

Hello! My mother just got herself a new PC with windows 7 home premium edition and it will not pick up her ADSL Modem, can anyone help?

Hello and welcome to the windows7forums,

Do you receive any error messages. If so, what is the exact error message?

Hit the Win key + R, and type in cmd. Now type ping www.google.com.

Does it say timed out or is there a response?

It could not find the host.

You could try resetting the modem.

Do you have a green light blinking on the Ethernet connection on the back of the Computer?

You can always go to Start > Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center and try to first diagnose.

If that fails, try creating a new connection.
