I just had my Windows 7 machine fail to start.

It BSODs with "PROCESS1_INITIALIZATION_FAILED 0x0000006B (0x0, 0x0, 0x0, 0x0)" but is able to start when I invoke Safe Mode.

Startup Repair and System Restore both failed to resolve the issue, and the installation did work before that.

This could also have been caused by a Windows Update (probably a driver update)
Uninstall any latest updates or drivers from safe mode if possible and reinstall

Might try running chkdsk /r
or right click C: in safe mode and run check disk from there, reboot, let it finish
