Hi,

i want to remote shutdown my htpc pc (after backup via scheduled task).
if I run the shutdown command i get

C:\Users\toetie>shutdown -s -m \\toetie-htpc -t 0
toetie-htpc: Access is denied.(5)

if I disable uac on my htpc it works ( but i don't want to disable it )
if I try to change the local policy local policies-> user right assignment->shut down the system yo add the pc i want to shutdown from in my workgroup I get a failed to save local policies error.

any help is appreciated

Not sure if this is what you want but Ctrl+Alt+End works for me.
