Just trying to figure out an issue I have with Windows 7.

Is anyone else using a desktop USB Microphone that's using Windows 7's USB Audio Driver?

I seem to be getting a "Thunderstorm" type sound whenever I use or activate the microphone.

Solution
Try and reduce the sensitivity of the micro phone as it is detecting the vibrations produced by your machine( hard disk moving and other mechanical parts moving.

Reduce the sensitivity up to the point that it will recognise only your voice

If this helps please do let us know :)
