Windows 8 Windows 8.1 starts only after reset

I recently istalled windows 8.1 and everything is ok but this weird thing:
Everytime I start the pc, it reaches to a point where there is black screen and I can only see the move (working). Nothing happens from there, I have to reset ans there you go, it starts alright!

It's an old computer with an intel core 2 6600 cpu at 2.40 GHZ, Asus P5W DH Deluxe notherboard chipset i975x, DDR2 4GB. I know it's old but works just fine with 8.1 so it kinda makes me wonder. The worst thing is that from continuous resets my hard disk didn't start the other day and i had to scndsk for hours to fix it...

You could try a recovery. If that doesn't work than a full reinstall.
Do a drive image first that way if either of these don't work you can just load the image and you'll at least be back where you started
