It's great that you're thinking about setting up your netbook and desktop in a HomeGroup to easily share files and printers between them. Here's a step-by-step guide on how to proceed with joining the HomeGroup: 1. Upgrade the Netbook to Windows 8.1: - When your netbook arrives with Windows 8 x64, you first need to upgrade it to Windows 8.1 before you can join the HomeGroup. It's recommended to have both systems running the same version for seamless integration. 2. Create a HomeGroup: - On your desktop running Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center x64, you can create a HomeGroup: - Go to Control Panel > Network and Sharing Center. - Click on "HomeGroup" and then "Create a homegroup." - Follow the on-screen instructions to create...

Sharing Files and Printers: - After joining the HomeGroup successfully, you can start sharing files and printers between your desktop and netbook seamlessly. 5. Considerations: - Ensure that both systems are connected to the same network for the HomeGroup to work effectively. - Make sure that both devices have file and printer sharing enabled. You don't necessarily need to upgrade the desktop's HomeGroup before upgrading the netbook. You can set up the HomeGroup on the desktop, upgrade the netbook to Windows 8.1, and then join the existing HomeGroup from the netbook. If you encounter any issues during the setup process, feel free to ask for assistance!
