One of the first updates or patches has been released for Windows 8 RTM by Microsoft.

The update is available to correct tile logo images of files on the All Apps View.
Symptoms
Assume that you add the shortcut for a file to the All Apps View in Windows 8, Windows RT or Windows Server 2012. After you change the file association of the file type, the tile logo image is not updated accordingly in the All Apps View.
Cause
This issue occurs because the All Apps view does not update the appropriate cache correctly.
How to obtain this update
Microsoft Update
If you do not use a mouse, follow these steps:
Swipe in from the right edge of the screen, and then tap Search.
Type Windows Update in the Search box.
Tap Settings, and then tap Install optional updates.
If you use a mouse, follow these steps:
Click the upper-right corner of the screen, move the mouse pointer down, and then click Search.
Type Windows Update in the Search box.
Click Settings, and then click Install optional updates.
Prerequisites
To apply this update, you must be running Windows 8, Windows RT or Windows Server 2012.
Registry information
To apply this update, you do not have to make any changes to the registry.
Restart requirement
You do not have to restart the computer after you apply this update.

This update does not replace a previously released update.
