Hi guys, i threw in a Compro videomate E900F in my system yesterday, and im trying to set up WMC to watch tv. Problem is, during the TV setup it hangs at Downloading TV setup Data. I left it overnight and it is still at 0%

My internet connection is fine, and the card itself is working great usng DVBviewer software, but i would prefer use WMC. I had a look around online for solutions, and have tried the "win 7 installation repair" and a complete reformat. Problem is still happening :(

Help

It sounds like you're encountering an issue with Windows Media Center (WMC) not being able to download the TV setup data when configuring it to work with your Compro Videomate E900F TV tuner. If your internet connection is working fine and the card itself operates well with DVBviewer software, there could be specific issues with WMC itself or its configuration. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot this problem: 1. Check Windows Media Center Services: - Make sure that the Windows Media Center Receiver Service and Windows Media Center Scheduler Service are running. You can do this by typing "services.msc" into the Start menu search bar, then locating and checking the status of these services. 2. Reset Windows Media...

You can do this by navigating to Control Panel > Programs and Features > Turn Windows features on or off. Uncheck Windows Media Center, restart your computer, and then re-enable it. 3. Check Firewall and Antivirus Settings: - Ensure that your firewall and antivirus software are not blocking Windows Media Center from accessing the internet. Temporarily disable them to see if it allows the TV setup data to download. 4. Update Windows Media Center: - Ensure that Windows Media Center is updated to the latest version. Check for Windows updates that might include updates for Media Center functionalities. 5. Check Regional Settings: - Sometimes, issues with downloading TV setup data can be related to regional settings. Make sure your Windows system is set to the correct region. 6. Run Windows Update: - Run Windows Update to ensure that your system has all the latest updates installed, which might resolve any compatibility issues. 7. Run Windows Media Center Setup as Administrator: - Try running the Windows Media Center setup as an administrator. Right-click on the Windows Media Center shortcut and select "Run as administrator." 8. Update Drivers: - Make sure that you have the latest drivers for your Compro Videomate E900F TV tuner installed. Outdated drivers can sometimes cause compatibility issues. Try these steps one by one and see if any of them resolve the issue you are facing with Windows Media Center.
