Hello there everyone.

It hasn't had serious ramifications on my computer so I ignored it at first, but it's starting to become a bit of a bother so I'm posting to see if anyone has encountered a problem such as this. It doesn't happen with every video I play, but occasionally while watching videos (most of the time .avi or .mp4) near the end of the video I get a window stating "Windows Media Player has stopped working" with the following problem details:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BEX
Application Name: wmplayer.exe
Application Version: 12.0.7600.16667
Application Timestamp: 4c7dc5a1
Fault Module Name: JetMPGd.ax_unloaded
Fault Module Version: 0.0.0.0
Fault Module Timestamp: 4bec50ee
Exception Offset: 0a0743d0
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Data: 00000008
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
Locale ID: 1033

Additional Information 3: 0a9e

What I find to be strange about this problem is if I close Windows Media Player, re-open the file, and skip towards where the problem occurred, the video will continue through the problem spot to the end of the video. Any thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated.

In case it's needed, here are some of my specs.

Asus G73J

Windows 7 Home Premium (64-bit)

Intel(R) Core (TM) i7 CPU Q720 @ 1.60GHz
RAM: 8.00 GB
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5800 series
