As of this month Microsoft has stopped supporting metadata for Windows media player on Windows 7 so can anyone confirm whether Windows 10 Windows media player still supports metadata this is CD information but names albums tracks artists etc
A little googling revealed that you should be able to tag your music with VLC which is very much actively developed and uses online CDDBs to automate the tagging of music.
Nope, MS actually disconnected Windows 7 media player metadata support and had to repair it for Windows 10 but I'm not going to invest in Windows 10 laptop until I confirm it works and it's looking more like I'm the only person still using wma to add data. Most people are downloading music with data included, the rest seem to be adding it laboriously by actually typing it in, one track at a time
Windows Media Player for Windows 7 & Windows Media Center for all versions of the Windows will stop displaying Metadata like title, genre, artist, cover art, etc.
