Windows 7 Windows update wants to restart all the time

I have an unusual problem here. While at some point having downloaded appropriate updates, installed (supposedly) and restarted, now windows update say "restart you computer to finish installing important updates".

However, nothing gets installed and when I have restartet, the same message appears. I have tried running some utilities in windows 7 manager, but it didn´t help.

Specifications:
windows 7 64-bit premium
msi p6n sli platinum mo.bo.
core2duo 2,44ghz

The tut is for Vista, but the same procedure should apply to Windows 7.

If not, you may want to use system restore to restore your system to a point just prior to the updates being installed.

I tried the vista solution, but the bat file wasn´t able to find the needed files. So I did a system restore 2 clicks back, but this had no effect either. As long as this problem persist, I won´t receive new updates, right?
