Hello Aakash Aggarwal, Welcome to the forum! It seems like you are experiencing issues with accessing NTFS-formatted hard drives over LAN in Windows Vista. To ensure that all users have full permissions to access, view, modify, and delete files on your PCs, you can follow these steps:

Steps to Give Full Permissions for NTFS Hard Drives:

  1. Check Sharing Settings:
    • Ensure that the NTFS drives are shared correctly on your network.
    • Right-click on the NTFS drive you want to share and select "Properties."
    • Go to the "Sharing" tab and click on "Advanced Sharing."
    • Check the box that says "Share this folder" and customize the share name if needed.

    []Permissions Configuration:
    • Click on the "Permissions" button after enabling sharing.
    • Add the users or groups that you want to have full access.
    • Assign "Full Control" permissions to the users/groups.
    • Click "Apply" and "OK" to save the changes.
    [
    ]Security Settings:
    • While in the drive properties, go to the "Security" tab.
    • Click on "Edit" to change permissions.
    • Add the desired users/groups and assign necessary permissions here as well.
    • Make sure that "Everyone" or the specific users are granted appropriate permissions.
    []Network Discovery and File Sharing:
    • Ensure that network discovery and file sharing are turned on.
    • Go to the Network and Sharing Center in the Control Panel.
    • Check that the network is set to "Private" and that network discovery and file sharing are enabled.
    [
    ]Firewall and Antivirus:
    • Temporarily disable the firewall and antivirus software to check if they are blocking access.
    • Configure firewall settings to allow file and printer sharing.

      Additional Tips:

      • Make sure all PCs are in the same workgroup for easier sharing.
      • Restart your computers after making changes to apply the settings.
      • Verify that the network cable connections are secure and working correctly.
By following these steps, you should be able to grant full access permissions to all users for the NTFS hard drives on your network. If you encounter any difficulties or need further assistance, feel free to ask for help. Best regards!
