Looks like Microsoft is attempting to gain those 70% of users using XP still. I think they'll be able to attract some people to Seven because of the speed and reliability.
 
I think this decision will indeed win over alot of the die hard XP fans... It's a good move on Microsoft's part.. Now if only they'd listened about not making so many different versions.. ;) Oh well, I'll still buy a copy of Ultimate no matter how many other versions there are..
 
I'm glad they are selling different versions, as I don't need all the bells and whistles of Ultimate, and don't want to spend $400. :eek:
Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit has all the features I need.
 
Of course we'll have to wait to see exactly what the upgrade will mean money-wise. And I agree with the too many versions, jeez how many do you need. Take the XP systems as a guideline for pitys sake. Of course the final versions are still a ways off so there is no telling what we will wind up with. Microsoft has always played the last minute switcheroo. Remember Long Horn? ;)
