Works laptop, have admin rights.
I set the Power Options to Balanced but within a few hours it's back to the corporate one.

I presume this is a group policy setting somewhere.

As I have full admin rights, is there a regedit to stop this?

Cheers
(p.s. not interested in the debate if I should or shouldn't do it as given full access to add any software and it is proving a pain, but huge company so no chance or swaying them to change etc.)

If your laptop settings keep reverting back to the corporate power plan despite setting it to Balanced, it's likely being controlled by a group policy setting enforced by your company. However, since you have full admin rights on your laptop, you can try to override this behavior by tweaking the registry settings. To prevent the corporate power plan from taking over, you can modify the registry settings related to power plans. Here's a general guide on how you might accomplish this:

Steps to Modify Power Plan Settings via Registry Editor:

  1. Open Registry Editor:
    • Press Win + R, type regedit, and hit Enter.
[]Navigate to the Power Settings Key:
    • Go to the following path:
      Code:
      ...

    ]Modify the ActivePowerScheme Value:
    • Look for the CsEnabled key inside the Power key.
    • Set the value of CsEnabled to 0.
    []Changing Power Plans:
    • Navigate to:
      Code:
       HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Power\User\Default
    • Select the PowerSchemes key to see a list of power plans.
    • You may need to identify a specific key for the Balanced power plan and modify its settings accordingly.
    [
    ]Set Power Plan as Active:
    • Modify the CurrentPowerPolicy value in the sub-key for the Balanced Power Plan.
  2. Restart Your Computer:
    • Restart your laptop to apply the changes.

      Note:

      • Caution: Modifying the registry can have unintended consequences if done incorrectly. Ensure you back up your registry before making any changes.
      • Consult IT: If you're unsure about modifying the registry, it's advisable to consult your IT support team before proceeding.
By tweaking these registry settings, you might be able to maintain your preferred Balanced power plan. However, keep in mind that your company's policies might still override these changes periodically.
