Windows 7 How to find out what caused my Blue screens?

From what I can tell, and I don't have that much experience, the utility named is usbfilter.sys which seems to be tied to an AMD sound device sensing for the USB ports. It is a fairly recent (2009) driver, but you might see if there is an update and it would seem to be related to the chipset drivers. The recommend download to replace would seem to suggest 2009 might be the latest, but you will want to check for your system.

You also have a driver from 2005 named MarvinBus64.sys that seems to be related to a Pinnacle Video capture. This does not necessarily mean it is bad, but you might check for a newer version, or if you are not still using it, try to remove.

Besides Saltgrass excellent post these drivers should be updated as they are from before win 7 was released let alone SP-1.

How To Find Drivers:

- search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone will try and help you locate the appropriate program.

Today no Bluescreen So far!
Regarding the usbfilter.sys i can't update it even if i install the latest available drivers for my mobo. And the MarvinBus64.sys works fine when i start Pinnacle... so i'll wait a couple of days before i do anything more.

zigzag: This system is updated both hardware and Win7 from Vista. So that must be why there's old drivers lying around... Maybe it's a good idea to reinstall everything from scratch.
If the bluescreens appears again i will do that to get rid of the old stuff. Thanks for the reply!!!

Do you remember making any recent changes to the computer prior to this issue?

I would suggest you to follow the steps in the link and check if the issue persists:

Also check event viewer for error follow the steps in the link:

What information appears in event logs (Event Viewer)?

General consensus across Forums tends to be that an "upgrade install" is basically a time bomb waiting to hit you with problems (as you have seemed to have found out!!). So, if you're up to it, or the next time you feel a need to install, then a completely fresh install is the way to go.

Even if you only have the upgrade disc you can still do a clean install. A nice read of Link Removed due to 404 Error blog will show you the way!
