📎 AI Summary:
The thread discusses the upcoming release of *Ashes of Singularity* on Steam, highlighting it as the first true DX12 game announced with a planned release on October 22, 2015, and noting that Windows 10 would be required due to DirectX 12 support. However, a later comment clarifies that the game was actually developed as a minimum DX11 game, meaning Windows 10 is not strictly necessary to play it, and it could be available through GOG with a discount. Overall, the discussion centers on the game's platform requirements and the misconception about its dependency on Windows 10 for DX12 features.

The first truly DX12 game is coming soon to STEAM:
Ashes of Singularity from Oxide is scheduled for October 22nd at Steam Early Access. You may expect the first ever real DirectX 12 title. Ashes is a DX12 & 64-bit title, and that means that Windows 10 would be mandatory if you want to run the DirectX 12 API.

you can also get it from Gog if you want Ashes of the Singularity -25% on GOG.com

fyi it now comes to light that Oxide is making this as a minimum dx11 game NOT a dx12 (only) so you don't in fact need Windows 10 to play the game.
