Periodically my computer shuts down, the power indicator will be on but there is no output, if I press the power button it will boot up normally, I have set the power plan to never shut down anything it will do this sporadically, it doesn’t do it while I’m working only when it has been idle fora long period. What might the problem be?

Sounds like a normal sleep or hibernation process. If this is a laptop, when you set the power options did you set them for on battery and off?
