Windows 8 Gateway zx6971 wifi drivers

I just got a gateway zx6971 and upgraded it to windows 8 pro. The install went fine except for that my wifi is not working. My wireless card is a qualcomm atheros ar5bwb222. Gateway phone support couldn't help me with a solution and a ethernet cable is not an option. Can someone please help me get my wifi working again as this is my computer T work, and without Internet I'm completely screwed. More than pissed off right now. Someone help please.
