Hello,

I am new to windows vista and i just got a new laptop which came
with vista home edition installed, now i set the laptop up the way i
want it, then i deleted a few file's i no longer required but when i
went to empty the recycle bin i accidently deleted the recycle bin,
can some one be so kind to tell me how i can restore the recycle
bin to the desktop . Thank you .

To return the Recycle bin icon to the desktop, right-click on the desktop, choose 'Personalise' down at the bottom and then look on the left-hand side of the revealed box. Under Tasks you should see 'change desktop icons'. Click that and then tick the check box for the recycle bin which should then reappear...

And run this little reg file, if you like, which will remove that dumb drop down menu item in the recycle bin "delete"
